Kelly Williams
Board Member, Public Relations & Marketing
From the time she was about four years old, Kelly Williams' favorite outfit was a cowgirl costume. Her favorite ride at the Mid-South Fair was the “hobby horses.” She read every Black Stallion book before she was in the fifth grade and would repeatedly drum her fingers to mimic the sound of galloping hooves. She could go on and on—she has loved horses her entire life!
It wasn’t until she was in her 40s that she learned about the healing power of a horse’s gait. In 2003, she visited an equine therapy center in Georgetown, TX—ROCK, Ride On Center for Kids. There, she witnessed children with autism, related disorders, and other disabilities improve

after just a short ride on the back of a horse. She saw stroke victims and individuals who had experienced trauma and abuse find calmness when they encountered a therapy horse. It was truly supernatural.
She learned about Honey’s Mini Therapy Adventures following the pandemic when hospital patients and healthcare staff were suffering from PTSD, adrenal exhaustion, and depression. A visit from the mini therapy horses created an almost instant burst of healing and hope for both patients and staff. Just seeing Honey and her friends brought smiles.
After a lifetime of loving horses and more than a decade of experience working in mental health with charitable nonprofits and grants, everything seemed to align. Helping Honey’s became the perfect way for her to make a difference.
She now serves as a board member for Honey’s Mini Therapy Adventures and is one of Honey’s most
outspoken supporters. Knowing that she can play even a small part in the happiness, hope, and healing
that Honey and her friends bring is incredibly fulfilling.
