OUR HORSES
Our 8 Therapy horses are qualified through the American Miniature Therapy Horse Association by demonstrating the specialized skills they’ve learned in their training and use when visiting hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and behavioral health facilities.

Some examples of their trained skills include:
-
Exemplifying their high comfort level and familiarity with various medical equipment in facilities, including walkers, wheelchairs, and crutches.
-
Their ability to back up or pivot when directed in a tight space like next to a hospital bed, in a small hospital room, or in a narrow elevator.
-
Their desensitization to different terranes or opticals they may come across like stepping up, down, or onto a platform that could make a noise or move under their feet.
Before we enter a horse into our program, they are vetted by our founder and trainer Mary Rose Gullet, and Danielle Cerna, our handler and key board member, to ensure they have the personality to become a Honey’s Mini Therapy Horse. Once accepted, our trainers enroll the horse into a 3-6-year training plan within our program. Once completed, they are highly trained therapy horses ready to provide therapy to patients, students, doctors, nurses, staff, children, seniors, first responders, military veterans, and everyone in between. Our horses prove time and time again to be gentle, compassionate, patient souls on every visit and we are incredibly grateful to work with such unbelievable therapy horses.
Thank you to all our volunteer handlers for dedicating their time to our nonprofit organization. Thank you to the American Miniature Therapy Horse Association for creating a program that properly qualifies horses to be around our society’s most treasured individuals.

In Loving Memory of Belle

Forever in Our Hearts
Belle wasn’t just a part of our program—she was part of our family. With a gentle spirit and a heart full of kindness, she brought comfort, smiles, and healing to countless individuals. Whether visiting schools, hospitals, or special events, Belle gave her all—one soft nuzzle and hoofprint at a time.
We were blessed to walk alongside Belle as she carried out our mission of spreading joy and emotional support. Though she has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, the love and light she gave continues to shine in every life touched. Thank you, Belle, for the magic you brought into this world. You are deeply missed and will always be remembered.
